The use of Digital Twins is an emerging technology, mainly because they facilitate to access information from heterogenous data sources, they span the entire building lifecycle, and they enable advanced data-driven applications (such as fault detection and diagnosis, model predictive control). Bosch is creating new scalable building services using digital twins (hit <a href="http://YouTube:%20#digitaltwin%20#BCW20%20#connectedbuilding">YouTube: #digitaltwin #BCW20 #connectedbuilding</a>) and open ontology models (hit YouTube). As Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems take up more than 1/3 of the total energy consumption during building operation, it is important to improve their performance using digital twins. How to generate the digital twins of the HVAC systems using data from diverse sources is a critical issue.</p><ul><li>The goal of your work is to generate digital twins for the HVAC systems based on the Building Information Model (BIM) and sensor data stored in the Building Management System (BMS).</li><li>You will first test and evaluate the tools for BIM-based semantic graph generation, and then link the corresponding time-series sensor data to the digital twins via appropriate ontologies.</li><li>You will eventually analyze the performance of HVAC systems using the generated digital twins, such as the indoor environments of the observed zones, the energy consumption pattern as well as the system anomaly during the operational stage.</li><li>Your solution will be validated against an office building on the Bosch Research Campus, in Renningen.</li><li>Your results will be used, to increase efficiency of buildings and to increase the reliability of their energy systems.</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Qualifications</h2></div><div><ul><li><strong>Education</strong>: studies in the field of Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Energy Engineering or comparable</li><li><strong>Personality and Working Practice:</strong> highly motivated, proactive, good communication and teamwork skills</li><li><strong>Experience and Knowledge: </strong>in the following topics is desirable: semantic technologies (RDF, OWL, SPARQL), building technologies, building information modeling (BIM), data analytics, programming knowledge (Python, Java, C++ or similar)</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Additional Information</h2></div><div><p><strong>Start:</strong> according to prior agreement<br>
