Welcome to Bosch.</strong></p><p>The Robert Bosch GmbH is looking forward to your application!</p></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Job Description</h2></div><div><p>Detailed understanding and characterization of physical processes inside the membrane-electrode-assembly (MEA) are the basis for quantitative simulation of polymer-electrolyte-membrane (PEM) fuel cells. Current state-of-the-art models do not yet reliably capture transient and distributed reversible phenomena related to humidification and reversible degradation. Both hamper a quantitative prediction of performance losses and aging-relevant internal states.</p><ul><li>In this PhD project you will work with us to improve our understanding and modeling of performance loss processes inside the MEA, and advance our unique methods to characterize transient and distributed internal states.</li><li>You will make active use of existing expertise in our internal research team and in your academic environment.</li><li>Furthermore, you will systematically plan and carry out in-situ experiments and required hardware as well as software changes. The translation of data into solid knowledge is also part of this.</li><li>Last but not least, you will boost the work of our internal interdisciplinary and international research team and publish your findings in high-impact journals.</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Qualifications</h2></div><div><ul><li><strong>Education: </strong>excellent degree (Master) in Chemical Engineering, Physical Sciences or related</li><li><strong>Personality: </strong>curious, analytic and collaborative</li><li><strong>Working Practice: </strong>self-motivated, structured and focused</li><li><strong>Experience and Knowledge: </strong>aptitude for combined experimental and theoretical analyses and willingness to master and advance a highly complex measurement setup, experience with modeling and characterization of electrochemical energy storage or conversion devices or coupled transport phenomena is a plus, as well as programming skills (Python) and experience with simulation tools or numerical optimization approaches</li><li><strong>Languages: </strong>fluent in English and German (written and spoken)</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Additional Information</h2></div><div><p><a href="http://www.bosch.com/research">Bosch Research</a><br>
