We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineers to join our office in Berlin! Your mission will be to change the future of language learning by ideating and validating a new space for Babbel. You will work in a small team, close to subject matter experts and researchers to bring this mission to reality.
You will:
<ul>
<li>Deliver value iteratively by building high-quality applications and features</li>
<li>Build, maintain, and take ownership of a rich ecosystem of applications and services</li>
<li>Be part of feature teams and build end-to-end customer features</li>
<li>Own architectural design and constantly propose improvements of the existing features</li>
<li>Ensure that the systems you own are healthy, resilient, and perform well</li>
<li>Collaborate cross-functionally on feature design, architectural decisions, and assessing technical debt</li>
<li>Shape our coding guidelines and quality standards</li>
<li>React, troubleshoot and solve operational events (bugs and incidents)</li>
<li>Focus on continuous learning and improvement and drive the evolution of our engineering practices</li>
<li>Work in a small team and contribute &amp; drive all phases of development</li>
<li>Propose, implement and validate solutions - from prototypes to potentially scaling them (or discarding them)</li>
<li>Maintain and make use of a good overview of the overall technology stack and infrastructure</li>
</ul>
You are:
<ul>

You have:
<ul>
<li>Experience in fast Build-Measure-Learn cycles</li>
<li>Strong sense for good API design and third-party API integrations</li>
<li>Experience in using AWS, NoSQL databases</li>
<li>Proficient knowledge in JavaScript, HTML, CSS (incl. preprocessors and CSS in JS)</li>
<li>Knowledge in component-based frontend frameworks, ideally React and Redux</li>
<li>Testing experience on different levels: unit, integration, contract, and E2E</li>
<li>Willingness to cooperate with the product and business stakeholders building together a trust working environment</li>
<li>A can-do attitude to build MVPs and iterate on them in short cycles</li>
<li>Good understanding of lean and agile practices</li>
<li>Good communication and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Fluency in written and spoken English</li>
</ul>
Nice to have:
<ul>
<li>Strong understanding of Event-Driven Architecture</li>
<li>Knowledge of analyzing metrics about system health and performance (ideally DataDog, CloudWatch, PagerDuty, Rollbar)</li>
<li>Experience with infrastructure-as-code,ideally with Terraform</li>
<li>Solid sense for good API design and third-party API integrations</li>
<li>Experience with responsive design and working with design teams</li>
<li>Education industry experience</li>
</ul>
