<h2>YOUR ROLE</h2>
<p>As an Engineering Manager you will be guiding our engineering team in the transition from our mostly flat team structure to a structure that is more sustainable for a bigger organization, as we are scaling up. You will play an essential part in setting the tone and shaping the future processes and collaboration style for our team. For this reason we are looking for candidates with at least 2 years of experience in managing teams in healthy and effective engineering organizations.  </p>
<p>Your tasks:  </p>
<ul>
<li>You help our self-organized team grow during the scale-up phase</li>
<li>You line-manage and coach engineers and proactively help with their career development</li>
<li>You input on product roadmaps and coordinate software development projects between Engineering and Product</li>
<li>You bring team members together and create a team culture in our remote setup</li>
<li>You ensure a high level of quality and effectiveness</li>
<li>You help define and improve our engineering processes</li>
<li>You communicate in regular team meetings and facilitate our engineering communities</li>
<li>You report directly to our Head of Engineering</li>
</ul>
<h2>OUR PERFECT MATCH</h2>
<ul>
<li><p>You are an empathetic leader and strong people manager with high emotional intelligence and experience leading teams without micromanagement</p>
</li>
<li><p>You have at least 2 years of experience as a team lead or engineering manager in a startup environment</p>
</li>
<li><p>You have strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills</p>
</li>
<li><p>You have hands-on experience and a strong technical background client-server based development</p>
</li>
<li><p>You take pride in helping others succeed and have great communication skills</p>
</li>
<li><p>You have very good English skills (C1-Level or higher is a must)</p>
</li>
<li><p>Nice to have:  </p>
<ul>
<li>German skills</li>
<li>You have been a Ruby on Rails developer in your hands-on coding days</li>
</ul>
</li>
