The<em> </em>Robert Bosch GmbH is looking forward to your application!</p></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Job Description</h2></div><div><p>Leveraging the cloud computing principle, industrial control functions can be moved from field devices (e.g., PLCs and IPCs) to industrial servers located in the plant, thus reducing significantly operation costs and increasing the plant's flexibility.</p><p>Even if this paradigm can potentially bring many benefits to future factories, various technical challenges need to be addressed to achieve the same performance of a traditional control system.</p><p>In this context you will work as member of an interdisciplinary team on the following tasks.</p><ul><li>You will be responsible for the technical support in the construction of demonstrator(s) of future edge-cloud control systems.</li><li>Furthermore, you will benchmark various virtualization and networking technologies.</li><li>Not least, you will simulate industrial networks.</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Qualifications</h2></div><div><ul><li><strong>Education: </strong>studies in the field of Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering or comparable</li><li><strong>Experience: </strong>proven programming skills (Python, C#, C or C++) as well as strong technical/analytical skills, founded knowledge of virtualization and networking technologies</li><li><strong>Know-how:</strong> familiar with network protocols (ISO/OSI model, machine to machine communication), Wireshark, and Linux environments (e.g. Ubuntu Core and rt-patch) is preferred</li><li><strong>Personality and Working Practice:</strong> team-oriented, growth mind-set, goal-oriented, communicative, structured and independent</li><li><strong>Languages: </strong>fluent in English, German is a plus</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Additional Information</h2></div><div><p><strong>Start:</strong> according to prior agreement<br>
