These reliable distributed systems will be at the heart of numerous domains including automotive (e.g., connected mobility, highly automated driving), industrial, building, home and beyond. An integral part to bring these future cyber-physical applications to life, is the reliable communication within these systems. Hence, the communication architecture and its security, reliability, and performance will be the backbone for all these highly distributed applications. In our competence cluster Distributed Systems, we are researching and shaping this communication backbone for various domains. Are you a renown expert, with a proven academic track record and/or have experience in implementing products, in several of the following fields?</p><ul><li>Communication systems with focus on OSI Layer 1-3</li><li>5G/6G, WiFi system architecture</li><li>Radio-based positioning</li><li>Edge Computing</li><li>Time sensitive networks</li><li>Artificial Intelligence</li><li>3GPP/IEEE standardization<br>
 </li><li>You will be working as a researcher in our unique research ecosystem, you are shaping research projects internally and externally, you coordinate innovative concepts and solutions and implement selected aspects for demonstration and validation purposes.</li><li>You develop and maintain cross-boundary networks with key players within Business Units, Corporate Research and other organizations, companies, and universities.</li><li>You lead national and European research projects, contribute to industry associations and build the bridge to standardization activities.</li><li>You ensure that the research results are product-relevant and effective to be used.</li><li>With your background, you support us building secure and reliable distributed systems, combining state-of-the art IT technologies and paradigms with automotive or industrial systems.</li><li>You act as a role model for young professionals, either internally by proactively sharing knowledge and foster an open technical/scientific exchange, as well as externally, by actively contributing to the scientific environment.</li><li>Last but not least, you identify relevant trends and developments and initiate suitable internal activities as needed. Then join us at Bosch Corporate Research and seize the opportunity to improve quality of life all around the globe.</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Qualifications</h2></div><div><ul><li><strong>Education: </strong>excellent University degree in the field of electrical engineering or computer science and PhD in one of the listed topics</li><li><strong>Personality and Working Practice: </strong>positive, highly motivated and  innovative team player who is eager to learn new things and passionate about applied research</li><li><strong>Experience and Knowledge: </strong>several years' experience in academia and/or industry, academic background in engineering or computer science and a practical "hands-on" attitude, proven track record in several of the following areas: communication systems on OSI layer 1-3, system architecture, positioning, TSN, edge computing, practical knowledge in implementations and programming (e.g., software defined radios), prior experience with automotive or industrial applications is a plus</li><li><strong>Enthusiasm: </strong>eager to develop novel concepts and ideas and to materialize them by means of proof-of-concept realizations</li><li><strong>Languages: </strong>business fluent in written and spoken German and English</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Additional Information</h2></div><div><p>You want to work remotely or part-time - we offer great opportunities for mobile working as well as different part-time models or job-sharing.
