Hybrid model.</p></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Job Description</h2></div><div><p>As a <strong>Senior Backend Engineer</strong>, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure, APIs, and services to support supply-demand matching initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity, where you will have the chance to be autonomous and creative in shaping our product strategy and implementing innovative white-label solutions. </p><p><strong>Projects that you will work on: </strong></p><ul><li>Listing Sort Order</li><li>Listing Machine Learning Recommendation</li><li>Listing Classified Quality Score</li></ul><p><strong>What you can expect</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Be part of a large tech organisation </strong>with 50+ delivery teams: Assuming the scale, your work will impact a large number of stakeholders.</li><li><strong>Best path for classified ranking: </strong>Design and implement scalable, efficient backend systems to meet needs for Marketplace Quality and Matching efficiency across various markets.</li><li><strong>Challenge status quo:</strong> By delving into existing scoring systems to understand architecture, data flow, and functionality. Evaluate for seamless migration to white-label capabilities.</li><li><strong>API Development:</strong> Build RESTful APIs and implement data validation and authentication mechanisms for secure communication, ensuring seamless integration between frontend and backend systems.</li><li><strong>Optimization and Scalability: </strong>Optimize backend components for performance, scalability, and security, while also considering the flexibility and extensibility required for white-label configurations.</li><li><strong>Code Review and Quality Assurance: </strong>Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure coding best practices are followed, with a specific focus on maintaining backend quality standards.</li><li><strong>Integration and Collaboration: </strong>Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Analysts to integrate their algorithms and models into the backend systems, ensuring seamless data flow and frontend integration.</li><li><strong>Continuous Improvement: </strong>Monitor the performance of backend systems and APIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Qualifications</h2></div><div><p><strong>About you</strong></p><p><strong>Soft skill</strong></p><ul><li>Communication skills (give and receive constructive feedback, data driven argumentation, cross communication (written and verbal) and collaboration).</li><li>Fast learning and curiosity.</li><li>Problem solving skills and tackling complexity.</li><li>Proactivity (not “not in my scope” attitude, but rather “go getter” attitude).</li></ul><p><strong>Tech skills</strong></p><ul><li>Having solid experience in software engineering while building backends, APIs, data solutions and distributed systems.</li><li>Experience with microservice, serverless, or event-driven architectures.</li><li>Programming Languages: any modern programming language (Python, JS/TS, Java, Kotlin, C#, Go, etc). </li><li>Nice to haves: experience in DevOps, Data engineering or DataScience fields.</li></ul><p><strong>Tech Stack<br> We do not limit ourselves to a particular set of technologies and this is what we use right now:</strong></p><ul><li>AWS (Lambda, API GW, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, S3, Glue, Athena, Kinesis, Aurora, etc)</li><li>Python, TypeScript</li><li>OpenAPI, AsyncAPI</li><li>Jupyter, pandas</li><li>Github, CircleCI, Datadog, Terraform, Docker</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Additional Information</h2></div><div><p><strong>About us</strong></p><p>At AVIV, we are an equal opportunities employer and an organisation where everyone is welcomed to be their authentic selves.
