Job Description

Smart Glasses allow the projection of information overlayed to the natural view of the real world. These devices are considered the next big thing in the consumer industry, as a logical addition to smartphones. Bosch Sensortec develops a proprietary laser beam scanning projector for image generation in Smart Glasses, and we are looking for a highly motivated engineer in the field of design, specification and test of optical components to support our continuously growing development team.

  • You are responsible for the design of optical components as part of laser projector modules for use in Smart Glasses.
  • You engage in the design of the optical path and beam shaping in the laser projector system, running simulations for system optimization.
  • You generate technical specifications of optical components considering mechanical integration, manufacturing and assembly aspects.
  • You are responsible for the technical aspects of supplier management for optical components.
  • You characterize optical components and modules for check of specification conformance and concept validation.

Qualifications

 

  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Personality: High level of communication, entrepreneurial mindset and passion for understanding a complex laser scanning projector product.
  • Working method: Structured, goal-oriented, responsible and flexible. Ability to work in a team, take initiative and enjoy working in the dynamic environment of consumer electronics.
  • Experience and know-how: Several years of experience in optics design (ray optics with Zemax), ideally laser optics, as well as knowledge of specification of optical elements and CAD tools. Hands on experience with characterization of optical components and systems in the lab, combined with skills in data analysis. Experiences in interaction with suppliers are beneficial.
  • Languages: Fluent English in spoken and written form, good knowledge of German is advantageous
  • Education: Technical or scientific degree (MSc./PhD) in physics, optics or a comparable field of study.
