SUMMARY:
Rakuten Mobile Network is world’s first fully virtualized cloud native network powered by Rakuten Symphony. RAN is completely Open RAN 3GPP compliant design. Horizontal cloud is deployed in Far edge, edge, Regional and Central DCs. 4G and 5G services have been launched commercially in Japan.
Rakuten is going to bring its network architecture to the world through the Symworld communication platform (https://symphony.rakuten.com/). The final goal is to offer telco companies around the world a secure and open mobile network at high speed and low cost. Symworld will provide access to Rakuten Symphony’s network design combining virtualization and automation, so that customers can purchase and deploy their network wherever they are in the world.
As the Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing at the technical level small low to moderate-risk project(s) with few inter-dependencies, with changes mostly internal to Rakuten which use existing technology or requires a small modification to existing technology. This includes contributing to requirements gathering, to use case and API discussions/definition, to solution architecture, along with creating a project delivery schedule and contributing to tracking progress and milestones. You will be accountable for the delivery of project outputs and the delivery quality and risks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work under the guidance of a senior Technical leader and with Program/Project Managers to detail scope and trigger /track progress of activities.
· Define acceptance criteria, prioritize stakeholder requirements and define the scope boundaries;
· Coordinate and contribute to HLD/LLD, as well as use case and API discussions/definition
· Define and create user stories on JIRA and walkthrough the same to development team
· Design and Implement the Support Model with Internal support teams and 3rd party suppliers
· Define and Manage Service Acceptance process (test planning, execution, reporting)
· Assure quality throughout the project delivery lifecycle
· Manage Reporting and Support
· Effectively identify and contribute to resolve technical issues
· Proactively identify risks, communicate risks to appropriate stakeholders and develop a risk mitigation strategy and a contingency plan;
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

· Hands-on experience in telecommunication industry, mobile network service, OSS/BSS or any equivalent area in an international environment with good understanding of its technology concept;
· Knowledge of system integration frameworks and approaches via API;
· Knowledge of UML and related artifacts for system and API design;
· Knowledge of Wiki, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint or similar, MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or similar;
· Experience in identification and prioritization of requirements, executing quality assurance and control, ensuring standards and compliance;
· Experience in risk identification, analysis, response, control and monitoring;
· Demonstrates analytical thinking and effective decision making;
· Demonstrates time and productivity management;
· Excellent interpersonal skills, presentation and demonstration skills;
· Proficient in English and German.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
· MSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science/telecommunication plus 4-5 years related work experience with software systems;
· Prior Technical Project Management experience in the deployment of IT solutions in complex environments.
