<div><section><div><p></p><h2>Company Description</h2></div><div><p>We are looking for a skilled <strong>(Senior) Backend PHP Developer</strong> <strong>(m/f/d)</strong> to join our Checkout Team onsite in Hamburg or <strong>remotely</strong> within the EU.</p><p>The Checkout team is responsible for the complete order lifecycle, from customers first placing items into their baskets to handling the refund of a returned item weeks later. Between these two points the team interacts with a multitude of internal and external players, spanning from an in-house CRM team to the external marketplace and multiple payment providers in a variety of countries. The applications the Checkout team maintains span from high traffic &amp; fault tolerance API hubs to security-conscious and reliable backend processing engines.</p><p>Since we offer through SCAYLE our in-house developed eCommerce infrastructure for online retailers, as a licensed product, a big part of our responsibility is to work on Checkout as a Service.</p><p>Our main tasks are to build next-level e-commerce checkout, but also to focus on improving conversation &amp; user flow for our own website.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>Challenges the team will be working on:</strong></p><ul><li>Building &amp; maintaining scalable &amp; flexible new solutions for our Retail &amp; SCAYLE businesses</li><li>Working in a multi-application &amp; multi-tenant environment, with multiple stakeholders, each deeply involved in different facets of the Checkout as a product</li><li>Steering our products in a direction that allows them to be more flexible, open and easy to integrate to support our SCAYLE Customers</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>What you will do</strong></p><ul><li><p>Work on high-scalable products with PHP hosted on a cloud-based infrastructure (e.g. AWS)</p></li><li>Build and provide internal &amp; external RESTful APIs that ensure a fast &amp; frictionless updating of our products</li><li>Develop multiple platforms ranging from high throughput to maximum faultlessness</li><li>Constantly challenge and expand your knowledge of reliable architecture, programming and new technologies</li><li>Work with processes that are adapted to the team’s and ’s needs</li><li>Exchange your knowledge with other developers and be part of our ABOUT YOU TECH community</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Who you are</strong></p><ul><li><p>Excellent &amp; MVP-focused coding skills in PHP of a minimum 5 years</p></li><li><p>Practical &amp; recent experience with MVC Frameworks like Laravel or Symfony</p></li><li><p>Deep technical understanding of RESTful API’s</p></li><li>Solid background in building scalable distributed products and practical experience with Caching</li><li>Previous experience with handling &amp; querying relational databases (e.g. MySQL or PostgreSQL)</li><li>Passionate about writing well-structured, efficient and maintainable code, actively keeping the quality of the code base in check</li><li>Comfortable working in an English-speaking environment</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Qualifications</h2></div><div><p> </p><p> </p></div></section></div>
