Our offices are based in Berlin, Prague, Melbourne, Brazil, Bangalore, and London. </p><p>We are a growing team of more than 400 passionate employees from more than 50 countries who share the same vision: to create a single tool to help send travellers almost anywhere in the world.</p></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Job Description</h2></div><div><p>You will also be leading a small team of 2 (an engineer and an architect, both based in Berlin) and working closely with the VP Data and Analytics to deliver on the roadmap for our data strategy.</p><p>You will be responsible for:</p><ul><li>designing, building and maintaining our pipelines and warehouses/lake houses;</li><li>tracking data quality and health;</li><li>ensuring appropriate availability and latency for our data products;</li></ul><p>This is a predominantly hands-on technical role (50%) with 30% spent consulting with the wider business on their data needs and 20% as a team leader.<br> <br> <strong>Key requirements of the role:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the Architecture and Engineering function, managing the team, dealing with workload management, performance and personal development.</li><li>Design and build highly-scalable data models establishing a coherent, single-source of truth for Omio data.</li><li>Establish governance processes around access control and reference- and master- data management.</li><li>Manage our data pipelines and data quality infrastructure, ensuring high accuracy and low latency.</li><li>Work with Analytics Engineers to define and establish non-functional requirements for production data products.</li><li>Manage our GCP estate, tracking usage and costs.</li><li>Own the data tool stack, ensuring high productivity and a great developer experience for all our data practitioners.</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Qualifications</h2></div><div><p><strong>The ideal profile for this role will be someone who:</strong></p><ul><li>Has extensive experience of delivering complex data architectures within GCP</li><li>Has deep knowledge of multiple approaches to data modelling across relational and non-relational approaches.</li><li>Demonstrates a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities of working with very large, volatile and heterogeneous datasets.</li><li>Is able to communicate complex technical concepts in simple terms, to build consensus and bring people with you.</li><li>Are fluent in English; additional languages are always valued at Omio</li><li>Is a team player with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills </li><li>Has a solution oriented approach to problem solving</li><li>Key technologies: GCP (BigQuery, Looker, Airflow, dbt, Docker, SQL, Python, Terraform)</li><li>Experience in large-scale data processing with Apache Spark or similar technologies, and proficiency in Scala, Java, or Python</li></ul></div></section><section><div><p></p><h2>Additional Information</h2></div><div><p><strong>What’s in it for you? #LifeAtOmio</strong></p><p>This role is based on-site at Omio's modern &amp; friendly head office in Warschauer Platz, giving you a great environment to learn, grow and develop your career, surround by like minded colleagues, this role also offers flexible working, 50% home/office. </p><ul><li>Have an impact.
