<ul>
<li>You will be part of the Bookings team in the Search department. The team is responsible for delivering highly reliable internal APIs for internal/external tools for booking management.</li>
<li>Your team will consist of backend engineers and a project manager focusing on the booking lifecycle and payment processing which implies mainly backend integrations.</li>
<li>You will be working in close collaboration with the Finance team (responsible for the financial process), Post-Booking team (responsible for client facing booking components of the Holidu product and post booking communication with the customer) and Provider integration team.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Our Tech Stack</h2>
<ul>
<li>We are writing our applications with a microservice approach with Java 11 Spring Boot framework running on Kubernetes.</li>
<li>Data storage with PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch 7.</li>
<li>Event-driven communication between services through ActiveMQ.</li>
<li>Streaming and queuing systems like Kafka.</li>
<li>Heavy usage of AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Git.</li>
<li>Integrations with microservices via Rest apis over self-containing Feign clients.</li>
<li>Monitoring with ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, AWS Cloudwatch and internally developed technologies.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Your role in this journey</h2>
<ul>
<li>You will be involved in the whole end-end software development process from ideation all the way through to release and monitoring.</li>
<li>You will have full responsibility for the delivery of the features which affect 100 million users each month, as well as working on handling financial topics such as payments, financial and accounting calculations.</li>
<li>Together with your team you will focus on delivering clear, well-designed highly available APIs for internal/external tools, as well as make sure all systems and processes are scalable and that we are in compliance with the needs of the downstream clients.</li>
<li>Do you want to work more with Cloud? You will be responsible for designing the solution, provisioning the resources and integrating your applications directly with AWS as well as maintaining the internally provisioned resources.</li>
<li>You will be involved in improving and optimizing our software CI/CD processes and integrations to facilitate better development practices.</li>
<li>You will be involved in the exploration of new opportunities for tech stack improvements and proposing new state of the art technologies. Also be ready for knowledge and experience sharing with your colleagues both within the team and on department/company level.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Your backpack is filled with</h2>
<ul>
<li>A degree in Computer Science or a related field.</li>
<li>5+ years of professional development experience in Java.</li>
<li>Experience with developing web (micro)services with Spring Boot, using relational databases and deploying applications in a cloud environment.</li>
<li>Experience in managing highly concurrent sensitive processes (such as payment/financial transactions).</li>
<li>Experience with payment processing and/or integration with PCI-compliant payment processing engines as a plus.</li>
<li>Experience in designing and developing highly structured RESTful APIs.</li>
